Employment perspectives are excellent (look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/academics.dii.unipd.it\/chemicalprocessengineering\/en\/enployment-rate-and-data\" target=\"_self\" data-cp-link=\"1\" rel=\"noopener\">numbers<\/a>), also thanks to the continuous interaction with the industrial world and the presence of an industrial <a href=\"https:\/\/academics.dii.unipd.it\/chemicalprocessengineering\/en\/advisory-board-en\" target=\"_self\" data-cp-link=\"1\" data-mce-selected=\"inline-boundary\" data-mce-href=\"..\/advisory-board-en\" rel=\"noopener\">Advisory Board\ufeff<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row middle-sm\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-6\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-xs-12 space-bottom\" data-type=\"column\">\n<h3 class=\"color2\"><span>Master Degree in Chemical and process Engineering<\/span><span id=\"_mce_caret\" data-mce-bogus=\"1\" data-mce-type=\"format-caret\"><span>\ufeff<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\">These are just some of the skills of a chemical and process engineer graduated at the University of Padova.\n\n\n<br><br>\n\n\u2013 He\/She is directly involved in <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">research and development<\/span>, where (in collaboration with chemists, biologists, pharmaceutical technologists, materials engineers) he contributes to the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">final formulation of the product<\/span> and defines the industrial production methods.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 He\/She is the leading figure in the subsequent <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">development and design<\/span> stages of the production process.\n<span id=\"_mce_caret\" data-mce-bogus=\"1\" data-mce-type=\"format-caret\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\ufeff<\/span><\/span><br><br>\n\u2013 Using software and mathematical models, he\/she <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">designs the reactors<\/span> (or bioreactors) necessary for the transformation of raw materials into the product of interest; he defines their typology and size, establishing the operating conditions (temperature, pressure, reagents and solvents) necessary to ensure large-scale production that is economically viable and environmentally sustainable.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 Thanks to the knowledge of the physico-chemical phenomena that are at the basis of the transport of matter and energy, he\/she <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">designs the processes and equipment for separation and refinement<\/span> which are necessary to recover and recycle unreacted raw materials, to obtain a high quality product and to minimize the possible emissions of pollutants.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 He\/She <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">optimizes the entire production process<\/span> in order to achieve maximum energy efficiency, designing the equipment necessary for heat exchange and energy integration between all sections of the system.\n<br><br>\n\n\u2013 He\/She provides for <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">industrial risk analysis<\/span> and selects the technologies and procedures necessary to ensure safety in the designed plant.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 He \/She manages the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">construction of the plant<\/span> (in collaboration with the mechanical, structural and electrical engineers) and its start-up.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 He\/She is responsible for the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">automatic management of the entire production process<\/span>, ensuring its quality and safety.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 He\/She is directly responsible for the production phase.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 He\/She takes care of the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">design and management of polluting effluent treatment plants<\/span>.<br><br>\n\n\u2013 He\/She takes care of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">equipment maintenance and continuous process optimization<\/span> to adapt production to market demands, lower costs and increase environmental sustainability.\n<br><br>\n\u2013 <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Analyzes the production costs and profitability<\/span> of the entire production process. The chemical engineer carries out all these professional roles both within production companies (chemical and petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, materials, energy, etc.), and in service companies (design and construction, environment and safety, etc\u2026), and as a freelancer.
