Mandatory Requirements (Three-Year Plan)<\/b><\/h4>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"11\">To be admitted to the final thesis defense, doctoral candidates enrolled in the 41st cycle must fulfill the following requirements over the three-year duration:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Doctoral Courses (Internal):<\/b> Completion of a minimum of <b data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"56\">16 CFU<\/b> through catalogued courses provided by the PhD Programme or the Department. This should include a balance of hard skills (technical) and soft skills.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Seminars:<\/b> Attendance of at least <b data-path-to-node=\"12,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"33\">3 Seminars<\/b> during the PhD programme.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"12,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"12,2,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Research:<\/b> Continuous full-time research activity as defined by the individual project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-path-to-node=\"13\"><b data-path-to-node=\"13\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">3. External Activities &amp; Limits<\/b><\/h4>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"13\">Candidates may acquire credits by attending external Winter\/Summer Schools or courses at other institutions. However, specific restrictions apply:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Authorization:<\/b> Participation must be <b data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"37\">pre-authorized<\/b> by the Coordinator or the Academic Board <i data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\" data-index-in-node=\"93\">before<\/i> the activity begins.<\/li>\n<li data-path-to-node=\"14,0,0\"><b data-path-to-node=\"14,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">Maximum Limit:<\/b> A maximum of 3 <b data-path-to-node=\"14,1,0\" data-index-in-node=\"28\">CFU<\/b> total can be recognized from external activities over the entire three-year cycle. Any credits exceeding this limit will not contribute to the mandatory requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-path-to-node=\"15\"><b data-path-to-node=\"15\" data-index-in-node=\"0\">4. Yearly Progression &amp; Evaluation<\/b><\/h4>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"15\">Passage to the subsequent academic year is not automatic.
