Advisory Board

Academic formation and emplyment

Ihe Master’s Degree  in Chemical and Process Engineering has set up an Industrial Advisory Board, to verify the quality of teaching in the education of a chemical engineer.
Several reference multinational companies working in the field of Chemical Engineering are involved in the Advisory Board  (Basf, Cargill, Casale, Danieli, Electrolux, Eni, Foster Wheeler, GSK, LyondellBasell, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, Sirca, Techint, Versalis, Wood) and contribute to build the individual skills that a chemical engineer must possess to successfully face the challenges of the industrial world.
The aim is to ensure that graduate students in Chemical and Process Engineering receive as part of their training the skills and the methodological approaches actually required by the industrial and professional system, both as regards the “classical” training of chemical engineers and to cope with to the evolution of the production system.

These are the main conclusions that emerged from the meetings with industrial stakeholders:
solidity of the training received by the University of Padova and the good quality of the skills and knowledge (from transport phenomena to plant design, from the analysis of industrial processes to reactor engineering) that make the chemical engineer a unique professional figure, capable of being a true integrator of skills;
– the growing importance of issues related to the digitalization of the process industry (data management and analysis and information management) and the circular economy and sustainability;
– importance of non-technical skills (soft skills), in particular attitude to team work, problem solving skills, time management skills, communication skills (even non-technical).
