Master degree in Chemical and Process Engineering

The courses of the Master Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering completes snd deepens the method learned in the bachelor degree of Chemical and Materials Engineering, offering at the same time various opportunities for specialization. Using the fundamental principles of chemistry, physics and biology together with software tools for calculation and design, a methodology is acquired by the students to systematically face and generally deal with various applications of the process industry and applied research, with particular attention to the transformation of matter and energy.

The main subjects covered in the courses are:

– basic and methodological training; – design of chemical reactors; – design of chemical plants; – advanced industrial processes of organic chemistry and polymeric materials; – safe control and management of industrial processes; – IT tools to model, analyze and optimize industrial processes; – methods for designing the entire production process and economic feasibility analysis; – analysis of process data (big data) and experimental planning; – design of processes and systems for the pharmaceutical and food industry; – strategic environmental management and recovery of contaminated sites; – processes of green chemistry and the sustainable chemical industry; – business management. In addition to the courses offered in the educational path of the Master Degree, students  can also choose from numerous elective courses offered by other Master Degree Courses of the Department of Industrial Engineering.

In addition to classroom lectures, some courses also include practical and experimental activities in the teaching and research laboratories in which the teachers operate.
